Hansen-Rice, Inc. Partners with GoGo squeeZ® and United Way for a Noble Cause

Hansen-Rice, Inc. (HRI) recently collaborated with United Way and long-term client, Materne North America (GoGo squeeZ®) to make a meaningful impact on the community. Working through United Way of Treasure Valley in support of local schools, our objective was to address food insecurity and ensure that children have access to nutritious meals during weekends. United Way provided the structure, while Hansen-Rice, Inc. purchased food and gathered donations from partners like GoGo squeeZ®.

This initiative highlights HRI's commitment to community service and their willingness to leverage their resources and relationships for the greater good.

The Concept

United Way assigned HRI to Ross Elementary School in Kuna, Idaho ensuring that the local community would directly benefit from this effort. The need was to provide meal kits that would sustain a child over the weekend, ensuring they have access to nutritious food even when school is not in session.

This thoughtful approach not only addresses immediate nutritional needs but also supports the overall well-being of the children.

Crafting Nutritious and Kid-Friendly Meal Kits

The team developed a menu designed to be kid-friendly and as nutritious as possible. Each kit contained enough food for two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, and a drink. The aim was to ensure that the meal kits would be appealing to children while providing them with the nutrition they need for healthy growth.

Gogo squeeZ® generously donated 850 of their organic applesauce pouches, which were included in the kits, adding a delicious and nutritious option for the children.

Teamwork in Action: The Assembly Line Experience

During HRI's fall assembly, employees came together to build the meal packs in an efficient assembly line process. The teamwork and coordination were impressive, with the entire process taking only about 25 minutes to complete all 150 kits (450 meals). The photos from the event showcase the great teamwork and effort put in by everyone involved.

The energy and excitement among the employees were palpable. Everyone played a role in the assembly, boxing, and cleanup process, demonstrating a strong sense of community and shared purpose.

The Impact of HRI's Generosity on the Community

The impact of HRI's initiative was immediate and heartfelt. In addition to the 150 meal kits, the extra pouches of applesauce were donated to the school's pantry, ensuring that any family in need could benefit. Two of HRI's project engineers personally delivered the meal kits to Ross Elementary School, further solidifying the company's commitment to the community.

The elementary school expressed its gratitude, and the success of this event has inspired HRI to continue its community outreach efforts in the future. This initiative not only provided essential nutrition to local children but also fostered a sense of giving and community spirit within HRI.
